I think the 21 Day Fix is my Favorite “Child” out of the Beachbody Family and here’s why:
I started my journey with Beachbody back in 2011 when I purchased INSANITY from an infomercial at 3:00 am. I was going through a period shortly after my divorce where I wasn’t sleeping at night and although I was prescribed some sleeping pills, I didn’t take them because my Daughters were very little at the time and I wouldn’t take anything when I was home alone with them.
So, what does a girl do when she’s up all night and can’t sleep? – Hellllooooo QVC and infomercials! I knew of P90x and so when saw INSANITY I was so motivated by Shawn T – and all these people sweating their asses off…I said to my delusional self in my bed in the dark in the middle of the night – “yeah, I can do that!” – I KNOW many of you reading this know EXACTLY what I’m talking about and have done your share of infomercial shopping! 🙂 Infomercials at 3:00 am seem like the best thing in the world no matter what it is! I have lots of jewelry to prove that!
So, I got my INSANITY in the mail, read everything cover to cover and started it – made it through 2 friggin’ days and stopped. I was soooo out of shape at that time, I really had no business ordering the “advanced class” when I should have ordered the class with training wheels instead. I had no one to talk to about this because it was just me and the TV at 3:00 am – so I did what MANY of us do and I put it back in the box and that was that. I felt so crappy about myself – what was I thinking ordering a workout plan like that? Back then I had no idea that I could reach out to a Coach, or that I could supplement my workouts with an incredible super food shake, or that getting my meal plans on point was half the battle… I was in a tough place back then and boy do wish I knew of ALL THE TOOLS available with Beachbody, Fast forward to today and not only did I go on to do several more Beachbody programs – my 2 additional FAVS being the ULTIMATE RESET and TURBO FIRE which I love and will be doing again – Yes, that means future challenge groups for those programs too!
I have to say that when I started the 21 Day Fix, it really changed everything I knew about home fitness. It is the PERFECT combination of nutrition and simple effective workouts! and looking back, this was EXACTLY what I was missing when I first got started. Not only is the nutrition so on point, but it TEACHES you portion control to use in everyday life, which for me was probably the major component I was missing in my journey to fitness. I have seen HUNDREDS of people on my team over the past year achieve incredible results with the 21 day fix and recently, 21 day fix extreme. The BEST part about the program is that it can be done over and over again, which so many people decide to do.
