I was chatting with a friend the other morning and she was sharing with me that she stopped making her shake because she craved real food and the shake wasn’t satisfying to her. Hmmmmm….. I KNOW how my shake makes me feel so I had to ask her what she was doing to try and help her!
She then explained that she had been taking her shake to work with her and adding only water to it and then shaking it up by hand and drinking it mid-morning when she was hungry
Well… I completely agreed with her that it’s not cutting it because if thats what I was doing with my shake every day, I would have bailed after day 3! Thats not satisfying at all!!! eeeww!
Intervention time! I asked her to get out her fruits, milk (she chose almond milk), the blender, and ice and we got to work! I made her a shake the REAL WAY with these ingredients using her brand of protein shake that she said tasted like a “chocolate milkshake” – we blended it all up in her blender – I used the puree mode as its the best way to REALLY blend it all since she didn’t have a nutribullet (a MUST have) and she drank it. A definite improvement!Next I made a vegan chocolate shakeology for me and had her watch me make it while I had her compare the ingredients of her shake with shakelology.
Spinach, blueberries, strawberries, almond milk, ice 1 scoop of shake-o! This is what I do every day!
- so I blended it all up and had her try it and here was her reply:
“wow… this tastes very healthy!!… I don’t taste as much sugar (because their isn’t any!) and this is very good and satisfying!”
I asked her if she could imagine herself drinking THIS every day instead of what she was doing and she said “omg YES!” … I also suggested that since she gets up at 5 am to run (or do a fix workout) that she make her shake at home in her new nutribullet and sip it on her way to work and she’ll be satisfied until lunchtime! I explained that I literally crave my shake after working out and especially when I go to my yoga studio and my hands are shaking when I come out so I have a shake ready in the car and I looovvvveeee fueling my body this way! Her eyes lit up like an x-mas tree and she is starting her new plan as soon as her shakeology arrives!
